Characteristics of thyme leaves
Thyme leaves, commonly known as thyme herb, are a popular plant that is easy to recognize thanks to their appearance and distinctive fragrance.

Thyme grows in bushes about 30 to 70 cm tall. The stems are covered with soft hairs and may grow upright or spread horizontally. Thyme leaves are very small, short, lance-shaped, measuring about 5–9 mm in length. The leaf edges are curled, with fine hairs on the underside. Thyme flowers bloom from June to October each year and are white-pink or light purple in color. One of the most distinctive features of this plant is its strong, aromatic scent—you can smell it instantly just by walking past. Thyme originates from southern Europe, particularly the western Mediterranean region and southern Italy.
Thyme is a plant that prefers temperate climates and often grows on steep rocky slopes. Today, thyme is increasingly being introduced into Vietnam. You can grow thyme by dividing branches or using seeds; however, due to climate conditions, it is most commonly cultivated in places such as Sapa or Tam Dao.

Nutritional value and benefits of thyme leaves
The nutritional composition of thyme leaves includes many minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, vitamin C, B vitamins, thymol, and eugenol.
The main uses of thyme go beyond being a culinary herb.
